The Problem
Astroneer multiplayer works through Steam or Xbox networking, but many players experience connection issues. Hosting a dedicated server requires port forwarding and technical setup.

Setup Guide
Download MoleTun
Get MoleTun for Windows. Quick one-minute installation.
Create a Room
Open MoleTun, click 'Create Room', share the 6-digit code with your space crew.
Friends Join
Friends enter your code in MoleTun. Everyone's on the same virtual network.
Host the Game
In Astroneer, start a new game or load a save. Your game is now hostable.
Friends Connect
Friends launch Astroneer, click Join Game, and should see your session. If not, they can add your MoleTun IP manually.
Astroneer-Specific Settings

Astroneer is sensitive to version mismatches. Make sure all players update to the same version before connecting.

Astroneer is a PC/Console game, but can run on Android using x86 emulators like Winlator. Combined with MoleTun, explore planets on the go.

Free tier supports 3 players, Pro supports 8. Astroneer officially supports up to 4 players.
Can we use mods?▼
